Sofia Desirello received the Star Athlete award.
Three outstanding local high school students were honored by the City of Menifee this week as part of the City’s Teen Awards program.
The students, chosen for their excellence in various categories, were honored at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. The program is sponsored by the Lake Menifee Woman’s Club.
Winner of the Star Athlete award is Sofia Desirello from Paloma Valley High School. She is a star member of the girls soccer team and also served as placekicker for the football team this fall.
The Inspiring Academic award went to Caden Peterson, also from Paloma Valley High. Caden is a member of the California Scholastic Federation and plays on the girls golf team. She is also a member of the Friday Night Live club, which promotes positive activities among youth.
Winner of the Outstanding Citizen Award is Katherine Schneider, also from Paloma Valley High. A 4.4 GPA student, Katherine is a member of the school’s Plus Peer Leadership program and volunteers at Loma Linda Hospital.
