MENIFEE -- Romoland School District is pleased to announce the dedication of the Byron “Roy” Yost Multipurpose Room at Ethan A. Chase Middle School.
On Nov. 15, RSD Board members, district administration, and student leaders gathered at Ethan A. Chase Middle School for the dedication ceremony of the Byron “Roy” Yost Multipurpose Room. The dedication is in honor of former Board Member Byron “Roy” Yost, who served the Romoland School District community for over 20 years as a community member, employee, and board trustee.
The dedication ceremony included performances by the EACMS Advanced Band followed by remarks from Board President Manuel Aguirre, Board Member Gerard “Gary” Reller, as well as members of Mr. Yost’s family. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the plaque honoring Mr. Yost that will hang inside the MPR and lettering on the exterior of the building.
Mr. Yost was a leader who spent his years tirelessly advocating for students and striving to build a more beautiful, safe, and welcoming community for all. He worked as a bus driver, maintenance worker, and custodian, and ultimately served as a Board Member in the Romoland School District.
Mr. Yost championed projects to enhance student learning environments and experiences. He took pride in the community’s rapid growth and supported projects that provided long-term benefits for students. He was instrumental in the district’s creation of a middle school, believing that as our community continued to grow, opportunities for students should continue to grow as well.
His legacy of service to the community will be felt for generations to come.
