An impressive season came to a sudden end Friday night for the Santa Rosa Academy football team, which lost a 44-22 decision at Maranatha High in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 13 playoffs.

The host Minutemen (10-0-1) jumped out to a 20-6 lead at halftime and carried the momentum through the second half in beating the Rangers for the second time this season. Those losses were the only two of the year for Santa Rosa (9-2).
