Santa Rosa Academy took an early lead but couldn't hold onto it Friday night, losing its first game of the football season, 34-16, at Maranatha in a battle of unbeaten teams.
The Rangers scored first on a 22-yard touchdown run by Daniel Gonzales, then followed that up with a 2-yard TD run by Century Castle. Maranatha came roaring back, however, and SRA had no answer for the home team from that point on.
Santa Rosa will play Hamilton High in Anza on Thursday.
