A Menifee man died Friday in a solo vehicle crash on Zeiders Road, authorities said.
The 30-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was traveling southbound on Zeiders Road just north of Keller Road in a 2016 Jeep Compass, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. The time of day and speed of the vehicle are undetermined. For an unknown reason, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the T intersection with Keller Road.
The Jeep traveled through the intersection and continued over a dirt berm. It collided with a concrete wall and overturned several times in a dirt field before landing on its wheels in a northerly direction. The driver was discovered not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident was the third major injury accident in Menifee in four days -- two resulting in deaths.
The CHP Temecula Area is conducting the traffic collision investigation. The CHP would like to encourage any witnesses to this collision to contact CHP, Temecula Area at 951-506-2000. The CHP would would like to remind the motoring public to always wear your seatbelt. Seat belts can save lives and prevent injuries.
