A Homeland man will be in court on Monday to answer three felony counts following his arrest in connection with a road rage freeway shooting, authorities said.
Enrique Campos, 48, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, negligent discharge of a firearm, and assault with a deadly weapon regarding an Oct. 2 shooting incident on the 91 Freeway in Corona, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.
The suspect fired an unknown number of rounds at another motorist from a silver Kia Soul, according to the CHP. He then fled the scene eastbound on the 91 and exited the freeway at McKinley Street. Investigators obtained the license plate of the vehicle and identified the suspect.
Chino Police Department officers located the vehicle at an address in Chino, where the suspect was arrested.
“This investigation is still ongoing,” said Riverside Area Commander Capt. Levi Miller. “The California Highway Patrol takes aggressive driving and road rage seriously and will actively investigate these incidents. The CHP has highly trained personnel assigned to investigate all crimes occurring on our freeways.”
Any witnesses who may have observed this incident are encouraged to call CHP Officer Le Beau at 951-637-8000.
