The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in providing information on a fatal traffic accident in Temecula on Monday.
The accident occurred at about 10:18 a.m., when a 43-year-old male from Murrieta was riding a motorcycle northbound on the Temecula Parkway on-ramp to the 15 Freeway. He was traveling in the HOV lane of the on-ramp at a speed greater than 45 mph, according to a CHP news release.
For reasons still under investigation, the rider applied the bike’s brake, causing it to skid. He lost control of the motorcycle, collided into the steel guard rail, and was ejected.
The victim was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
CHP investigators are seeking a potential eyewitness driving a white SUV or pickup truck. The CJP also asks anyone else who may have observed this collision to contact the CHP at 951-506-2000.
