Three Hemet residents were arrested on charges of burglary and looting in an evacuation area after they were discovered looting an evacuated neighborhood in the Fairview Fire area on Saturday, authorities said.
Deputies responded at 1:39 p.m. to the area of Coralee Lane and Diamond Valley Road in Hemet to investigate a suspicious person call, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. The calling party reported that three people were casing the neighborhood in a white Chevrolet Blazer.
The deputies located the vehicle with one suspect inside. They began a search for the additional suspects. They also located a broken window to a residence in the 31400 block of Coralee Lane. Two suspects were found hiding inside. They were found in possession of stolen property.
The suspects were identified as Deven Hooker, 31; John Blackwood, 42; and Michael Edward Serrano, 50.
