Citing poor air quality in the Menifee area from the Fairview Fire, officials in the Perris Union High School District announced today that the annual Menifee Bowl football game tonight at 7 p.m. has been moved to Valley View High School in Moreno Valley.
The game, which pits Heritage High against rival Paloma Valley, was originally scheduled to take place at Heritage. The Patriots own an 11-0 advantage in the series.
On its Facebook page and in an email to parents, PUHSD issued the following statement:
“Paloma Valley High School, Heritage High School, and all PUHSD administration understand the importance of the annual Menifee Bowl to our students and community. Due to the nature of CIF rules regarding football, unfortunately there is not a way to reschedule this game to a different week in the current season.
“Keeping student safety at the forefront of decision making, the Menifee Bowl will now be held at Valley View High School at 7 p.m. tonight. Gates at Valley View High School will open at 6 p.m. and ticket sales will only be sold via GoFan at https://gofan.co/app/school/CA72877
"Students: Please check your school email for more information including “Rooter Busses” that will be provided free of charge for students from each school."
