Andre Skelton ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass Friday night as the Liberty High football team remained undefeated with a 43-14 win at San Gorgonio.
The Bison (5-0) put the game away early, scoring three rushing touchdowns to take a 20-0 lead. Anthony Ruelas, Skelton and quarterback Troy Dulyn scored on the runs. San Gorgonio (2-3) scored next, then Liberty added a safety for a 22-8 lead.
The Liberty scoring spree continued with a TD run by Skelton, an interception return, and a pass from Dulyn to Skelton, making the score 43-8. This was the last non-league game for the Bison, who are at home against undefeated West Valley next Friday to open Mountain Pass League play.
“That will be a big test for us,” Liberty coach Kraig Broach said after the game. “This was a good win. I’m happy we were able to mix it up and do some things we needed to work on.
“Besides the usual names on offense, the defense played a heck of a game,” said Broach, who singled out linebacker Eddie Smith and defensive lineman Caiden Verracruysse for their play.
