Kyle Root, the incumbent trustee in Area 3 on the Menifee Union School District board, is running for re-election to his position.
Root, 50, is running for the only MUSD board position that has an opponent on the November ballot. He is being opposed by Dennis Regus. Board members Jackie Johansen and Morgan Singleton are running unopposed for re-election to their positions.
The following is Root’s campaign statement going into the Nov. 8 election:
“As your representative for MUSD Trustee Area 3 for the past four years, I remain honored to represent you on the Board of Menifee Union School District and I’m proud to have earned your trust.
“When not serving on the school board, I’m also a firefighter that has served the residents of Southern California since 1994, an 18-year Menifee resident, and father of two boys that attended our Menifee schools. My wife has also been a teacher in the Menifee School District since 2006.
“I promised you during my first campaign that I would fight to have honesty, integrity, and transparency brought into MUSD from our top leadership to our newest employee. I feel that we as your elected board have done just that and much more in the past four years. However, we still have a lot of work to be done for our students. School security needs to remain one of our top priorities, as well as student support and test scores. Lastly, we need to continue to support our incredible teachers and staff.
“I would be honored to earn your vote and continue being your dedicated and passionate leader that our students and families deserve.”
