Second in a series of candidate statements for the District 2 Menifee City Council seat:
By Ricky Estrada
WE MUST IMPROVE TRAFFIC!
We can do this by:
-- Cutting the debt: Menifee has $21.9 million in debt and we are scheduled to pay $11.6 million in interest. We need to preserve our tax dollars to complete infrastructure.
-- Cutting wasteful spending: We cannot let projects like the “Park Amphitheater” balloon from $100,000 in 2016 to $3.9 million in 2022.
-- I am a leader who CANNOT be bought or influenced. I would be the ONLY Menifee Council member to sign the oath stating, “I will not accept campaign contributions from developers or contractors within our city.”
-- We must revisit our general plan and set aside zoning for more parks and land conservation.
We should always keep in mind that our families appreciate our small town feel. We must be financially responsible to support strong police and fire safety. Our city has the potential for greatness if we have smart leaders, responsible spending, and put family values first.
As a member of the United States Air Force, and an educator in Menifee, I will always show love for the future of our country.
