MENIFEE -- City of Menifee officials, community leaders, and representatives from Newport Pacific Land and IHP Capital Partners joined together Wednesday to celebrate the groundbreaking of Menifee’s newest master-planned community, Legado.
The 330-acre Legado community will include 1,000 new homes with an exciting array of design choices and numerous recreational spaces. Each residential village will offer Paseo access to Legado’s extensive variety of recreational spaces. These include scenic wellness walks with exercise stations, imaginative and interactive play spaces, a private pool and recreation center, as well as a 13-acre public park with a community center and sports fields.
“Legado will be a top-tier community that helps meet the growing demand for up-scale new homes in Menifee,” said Mayor Pro Tem Dean Deines, 4th District. “The parks and community amenities that this project brings to our city will further strengthen the quality of life of our residents.”
A future planned commercial center, accessible to the 215 freeway, will dedicate 20 acres to shopping and businesses, adding convenience and new employment opportunities.
“Based on its strong economic growth and prime location, Menifee is the perfect city for a high-end, master-planned community,” said Noah Shih, Senior Vice President of Newport Pacific Land Company. “We designed Legado to provide numerous benefits for current and future Menifee residents including new residential, recreation, and retail options.”
Legado is located in the northeast portion of Menifee, south of Rouse Road, east of Encanto Drive, north of Chambers Avenue, and west of Antelope Road. As part of the new community, numerous improvements will be made to surrounding roadways to enhance traffic flow including Encanto Drive, Rouse Road, Chambers Avenue, Sherman Road, and Antelope Road. The project will also help improve stormwater flow by creating landscaped basins that will store stormwater and release it slowly downstream.
“Legado’s official groundbreaking event marks an exciting new chapter in Menifee’s advancement as one of the fastest growing cities in California,” said Eric Koff, senior vice president of IHP Capital Partners. “IHP has been building homes throughout California for 30 years, and our team is grateful for the opportunity to work in partnership with the City of Menifee in the creation of Legado and its beautiful new homes. The City’s support in Legado’s development is instrumental, and IHP looks forward to continuing to work together in helping to shape the community in the future.”
Construction of Legado is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026. Residential home sales are expected to begin in the spring of 2024.
