Four Menifee residents have qualified as candidates for the Menifee City Council District 2 seat that is being vacated by Matt Liesemeyer, who is termed out.
Ben Diederich, Ricky Estrada, Altie Holcomb and Angela “Angel” Nevin will compete for the council seat, which represents the southwest portion of Menifee. Incumbent Dean Deines is running unopposed in District 4, which represents the northeast part of the city.

Holcomb is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer who served as chairman and member of the Menifee Parks, Recreation and Trails Commission.
The date of the city election is Nov. 8. Menifee 24/7 will post campaign statements for the candidates later this week.
