Four arrests, 25 citations made at Menifee checkpoint

Four arrests were made – two involving alcohol and/or drugs – at a Menifee Police Department checkpoint last week.

During the checkpoint, which was held between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. at Newport Road and Menifee Lakes Drive, the following arrests were made, according to a Menifee PD news release:

They included DUI with alcohol and drugs; public intoxication; domestic violence restraining order violation; resisting, delaying an officer in his/her duties. In addition, citations were issued for operating a vehicle while unlicensed (20); driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license (4); and failing to have a child properly restrained in a child car seat (1). Six vehicles were towed from the checkpoint.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
