MENIFEE – Menifee residents interested in representing District 2 or District 4 as a City Council member can now schedule an appointment with the City Clerk to obtain their nomination papers to qualify for the ballot for the November 2022 General Election.
For reference, a map of the City Council districts is available on the City of Menifee website at https://www.cityofmenifee.us/Districts. To qualify as a candidate, applicants must reside and be registered to vote within the district for which they are seeking to run for office.
The nomination period for these offices closes on Friday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. If nomination papers for an incumbent officer eligible for reelection are not filed by Aug. 12, the registered voters in that district shall have until Wednesday, Aug. 17 to nominate candidates other than the person who is the incumbent for that elective office. Both District 2 and District 4 positions will serve for a full term of four years.
