City provides update on road construction

The City of Menifee has project and construction updates to share with the community:

Murrieta Road at Newport Road

A full road closure will remain in place as EMWD’s Murrieta Road Transmission Pipeline Project continues at La Piedra Road and Murrieta Road. The closure will begin Monday, July 11 and continue through Friday, July 15. Please visit www.emwd.org/MurrietaRoad for additional updates on this project.

Palomar Road at Matthews Road (Case Road) – Storm Drain Improvements

Palomar Road remains open.

Goetz Road – North of Kabian Park – SCE Utility Undergrounding Project

Intermittent lane closures should be expected as SCE undergrounding work continues on Goetz Road, north of Kabian Park.

Murrieta Road and Sun City Boulevard – Traffic Signal Improvements – CIP Project

Sun City Boulevard remains closed east and west of Murrieta Road to support the construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection. This project closure is expected to be in place through Monday, July 18. Additional work will continue on the project through the end of August.

Scott Road between Menifee Road and Briggs Road – Sumac Ridge Utility Work

Intermittent traffic control continues along Scott Road in support of this utility construction project.

Potomac and Meadows Resurfacing – Pavement Management Program (PMP) Project

Slurry seal operations are expected to begin in late August to complete this pavement rehabilitation project.

Garbani Road and Menifee Road – Traffic Signal Improvements

Traffic signal improvement work continues to require intermittent traffic control near this intersection. Flagmen are present and assisting with traffic flow as shoulder and drainage improvements continue.

Newport Road and Murrieta Road – SCE Vault and Conduit Installation

SCE continues night work on Murrieta Road and Newport Road to support a new vault conduit installation. Working hours will continue to be between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately two to three weeks with alternating lane closures and traffic control configurations.

Barnett Road and McLaughlin Road – Road Closure Effective July 5

Barnett Road is closed between McLaughlin Road and Patricia Lane. This section of roadway is expected to remain closed for two months while the existing dirt roadway is paved by the developer of a nearby residential project.

Murrieta Road at Rouse Road – Traffic Signal Improvement Project

Intermittent traffic control will take place as the contractor continues to construct the new traffic signals.

La Piedra Road at Menifee Road – Traffic Signal Improvement Project

Intermittent traffic control will take place as the contractor continues to construct the new traffic signals.

Tradewinds Drive and State Route 74 – Street Improvements

The City of Menifee began constructing street improvements in the Tradewinds Development off of State Route 74. Work will continue for approximately the next two months. The project includes sidewalk and pedestrian ramp improvements and full removal and replacement of the street section.

*New* Briggs Road and Matthews Road – Road Closure

Lennar, a private tract home builder, is performing utility work in the area of Matthews Road and Briggs Road with road closures expected to remain in place in the project area for the next three weeks.
