City of Menifee announces rules for November election

Public notice from the City of Menifee:

NOTICE OF ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Menifee, CA on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, for the following Officers:

For One (1) Member of the City Council – District 2, full term of four years
For One (1) Member of the City Council – District 4, full term of four years

The nomination period for these offices begins on July 18, 2022 and closes on Aug. 12, 2022 at 5 p.m.

If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the City are not filed by Aug. 12, 2022, the registered voters in that district shall have until Aug. 17, 2022 to nominate candidates other than the persons who are the incumbents for that elective office.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by § 10229, Elections Code of the State of California.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2022.
