The Menifee City Council this week approved an expense of $445,499 for construction services on a pedestrian project on Normandy Road.

The project will create an eight-foot-wide asphalt trail spanning 1,400 feet across the Salt Creek dry river bed, where there currently is no sidewalk. The project will also include minor drainage improvements.

Construction is expected to begin July 6 and finish Sept. 7.
