Betti Cadmus honored as Menifee Citizen of Month

Longtime resident and community volunteer Betti Cadmus was honored by the Menifee City Council Wednesday as Citizen of the Month for May.
Betti and her husband John have lived in Menifee for over 30 years. She has been very active in Menifee schools through PTA, booster club and educational activities, as well as her participatin in Lake Menifee Woman’s Club and Arts Council Menifee. Cadmus also is retiring this month as public information officer for the Menifee Union School District.
“Betti is an instrument in our city making a difference,” said City Council member Lesa Sobek, who nominated Cadmus for the award. "Her enthusiasm and her heart for the students and the people that live here is huge. Betti is a real inspiration to the rest of us.”
“I’m so very humbled to be recognized in this way,” Cadmus said. “What a great honor this is. We’re not going anywhere. I look forward to connecting with more of our community groups.”
Sobek woman of the year. Now Cadmus citizen of the month. Are all of these awards reserved for public employees?
