Police apprehend suspect in fourth vehicle pursuit

A Winchester man faces a felony charge of evading an officer and reckless driving following his arrest on Tuesday, police said.

Travis Duncan, 49, had evaded officers in three recent vehicle pursuits in the same white Mercedes, according to a Menifee Police Department news release. On each occasion, Duncan escaped by driving recklessly and endangering the public. When the driver was identified as Duncan, the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System as a felony wanted vehicle.

On Tuesday, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officer located the Mercedes in Perris and attempted a vehicle stop. The driver pulled into a residence police say he was not associated with.

Menifee PD detectives responded to assume the investigation, and Duncan was arrested for felony evading, possession of approximately an ounce of methamphetamine, and for two active warrants.

One of three passengers in the Mercedes was also arrested for possessing methamphetamine and the vehicle was impounded.
