Diederich lays out platform at campaign event

Benjamin Diederich, candidate for the District 2 seat on City Council this November, held his first campaign event Thursday at Pitstop Pub in Menifee.

Diederich greeted supporters and spoke briefly about his plans if he is elected to succeed Matt Liesemeyer, who is termed out in representing that area of west Menifee.

“Menifee is a great place to live, work, and raise a family,” Diederich said in a statement to Menifee 24/7. “I want to make it even better for both my family and yours. As your Council member, I’ll focus every day on keeping our city safe."

Diederich listed the following key points of his campaign platform:

-- Expand recreation facilities and local parks to give residents more open spaces.

-- Improve local dining, shopping, and entertainment options by bringing in new small businesses that can grow our tax base.

-- Bring more high quality jobs to the area to reduce commutes.

-- Partner with Mt. San Jacinto College to provide more training opportunities to expand our local workforce.

-- Ensure our Menifee police are fully funded and have the resources to protect residents and increase road safety.
