City of Menifee officials celebrated the opening of the fifth park in the Audie Murphy Ranch community with a brief ceremony at Sunset Park this morning.

The park features a tot lot with a shade structure and plenty of open space for youngsters in the new community, located north of Newport Road and west of Goetz Road.

Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman and council members Matt Liesemeyer, Lesa Sobek and Bob Karwin welcomed families to the ceremony, where there were games for the youngsters and food provided by Panera. Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto and a representative of Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh’s office presented the City with proclamations.

To get to Sunset Park, take Newport Road to Goetz Road, turn right and then left on Audie Murphy Road.
