Patriots' finest season comes to an end in state playoffs

Heritage High’s record-setting season in girls basketball came to an end Tuesday night in a 50-21 loss at Imperial in the first round of the CIF State regional playoffs.

The Patriots finish their finest season ever with a 22-6 record. They advanced to the CIF Southern Section semifinals behind the play of Aaliyah Benavidez (15.9 points, 4.6 assists per game), Sierra Maxwell (15.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5 assists per game), Lauren Pagtakhan (11.8 points per game) and Naya Perez (6.2 points, 7.2 points per game).
