Santa Rosa Academy athletic teams started strong with three victories in the first round of the CIF playoffs this weekend.
The Rangers boys basketball team opened the Division 4A playoffs with a 55-32 victory over Segerstrom on Friday. SRA jumped out to a 20-7 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, improving its season record to 21-6.
Santa Rosa will play at Workman in the second round on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the Rangers girls soccer team scored a 7-0 victory over Le Lycee at home in Division 7 action. In boys soccer, SRA beat United Christian Academy 9-0, also in Division 7 action.
Both teams advance to the second round on Wednesday.
