The Sun City Civic Association (SCCA) and their management company, Avalon Management, was recently honored at the Community Associations Institute-Greater Inland Empire (CAI-GRIE) Top of Profession & Service (TOPS) 2021 awards ceremony.
The CAI-GRIE TOPS awards program, which was held at Pechanga Casino in Temecula, is an annual event that “represents a wide range of professional and volunteers in the Common Interest Development Industry.” SCCA was awarded the Community Association of the Year award because of their ability to go above and beyond within their communities.
In fact, according to the SCCA website, the SCCA was chosen for this award because of the praise for helping out their own community, such as delivering 400 meals to residents during Thanksgiving and Christmas; sponsoring town hall meetings where local elected officials meet with members of the community; and working with Riverside County to host a COVID vaccine clinic. One of the highlights that impressed the CAI-GRIE award committee was the Menifee Farmers’ Market because it brought so many people of Menifee together while showing off people’s artistic endeavors.
Norma Zermeno, general manager at SCCA, said the SCCA and Avalon work “hand in hand on the many accomplishments to help our seniors; we are very humbled and thankful for the award. We will continue focusing on helping the senior community in any way we can.”
SCCA is an active adult community made up of approximately 4,762 residents with staff governed by a board of committees and assisted by the Avalon management. According to the SCCA, the award “proves that SCCA Board and residents, along with Avalon management, make a great team and do positive things that benefit the Association and the nearby community of Menifee.”
