Santa Rosa Academy soccer teams in quarterfinals

After impressive victories in the first two rounds, the boys and girls soccer teams at Santa Rosa Academy will play in the CIF quarterfinals this weekend.

The boys team improved its season record to 7-8-3 overall with a 3-1 win over Milken on Tuesday. The Rangers will be at home Friday at 3:15 p.m. against Cathedral City in a Division 7 quarterfinal game.

Santa Rosa continues its impressive comeback from a 1-5 start this season.

Meanwhile, the Santa Rosa girls soccer team will play at Capistrano Valley Christian in a Division 7 quarterfinal game on Saturday. The Rangers earned that opportunity by beating Bishop Conaty-Lorreto on penalty kicks Wednesday after regulation play ended in a a 1-1 tie.

The Rangers are 10-4-4 overall.
