Paloma Valley boys wrestlers win CIF runner-up plaque

Seven wrestlers earned spots in next week’s CIF Masters meet and three others advanced as alternates Saturday as the Paloma Valley boys wrestling team took the runner-up plaque at the CIF individual championships at Ayala High.

Here are the results of the Wildcats’ final-round matches. (Note: The top five placers advance, but Seth Delgado also advanced as a sixth-place finisher at 132 pounds):

152 -- Brandon Brown, 3rd
160 -- Daniel Sohrab, 6th

195 -- Ben Sohrab, 6th
220 -- Simon Flores, 5th

The Masters meet will be held next Friday and Saturday at Sonora High School in La Habra.
