Motorcyclist critically injured in crash on Highway 74

A motorcyclist is in critical condition and another motorist faces a felony DUI charge in connection with a traffic collision Sunday night on Highway 74.

Menifee Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Highway 74 and Trumble Road at 10:24 p.m., according to a press release. The investigation revealed that a Toyota pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on Highway 74 and made a left turn onto Trumble Road, striking a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Highway 74.

Officers provided life-saving measures until Cal Fire personnel arrived. The victim was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center.

The driver of the truck was identified as 31-year-old Nathan Stipp. He was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and causing great bodily injury. The road remained closed for several hours during the investigation.
