Ricky Estrada, a candidate for mayor in the November 2020 race, has announced his intention to run for the District 2 seat on Menifee City Council this fall.

Estrada lost to Bill Zimmerman in the 2020 mayoral race, his first bid for public office. This time he plans to run in the council district in west Menifee that is currently represented by Matt Lieseyemer, who terms out in November.

In his announcement to Menifee 24/7, Estrada listed the following as his priorities: improve traffic, complete infrastructure, cut wasteful spending, keep small town feel, parks and conservation, and more mom and pop shops.

Candidates won't be official until they pull application papers and are certified this summer. The council district seats up for election this November are District 2 and District 4, where Dean Deines is the incumbent.
