The following is a press release from Ben Diederich:
MENIFEE -- Menifee business owner, attorney, and Planning Commissioner Ben Diederich today announced he is running for Menifee City Council, District 2. The current incumbent, Matt Liesemeyer – who endorsed Diederich – is ineligible to run due to term limits. In announcing his campaign, Diederich made the following statement:
“Growing up in the area and attending MSJC in the ‘90s, I’m excited to announce my campaign for the open District 2 City Council seat. Helping small businesses succeed as a member of the city’s Planning Commission has been a great honor and I hope to do more on the City Council to bring in new businesses, improve public safety, and expand local recreation opportunities and parks. I look forward to walking District 2 neighborhoods and hearing directly from voters how we can make Menifee an even better place to live, work, and play.”
In endorsing Diederich (left) for his seat on the council, Councilman Liesemeyer said:
"It’s been a great experience being able to represent the residents of the City of Menifee. Our little town has quickly grown into one of the best cities in our region and I could not be prouder. As I step back from this role, there is nobody better to step in and continue with this success than Ben Diederich. Ben’s a family man, and a local business owner. His history serving on our Planning Commission and Chamber of Commerce gives him the advantage to hit the ground running and continue the legacy of success our city has seen in such a short time."
Diederich also has the support of Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman, who was quoted as saying: “As a leader with Menifee’s Chamber of Commerce, Ben has demonstrated his support for our local businesses. His years of experience as Menifee Planning Commissioner make Ben well-suited for City Council service. He would be a welcome addition.”
Diederich is a Menifee attorney and business owner. His firm was awarded “Small Business of the Year” by the Menifee Chamber of Commerce in 2020. He and his wife live in District 2, where their 11-year-old daughter attends Táawila Elementary School.
