City gives update on road improvement projects

MENIFEE -- The City has project and construction updates to share with the community:

Murrieta Road – Near Salt Creek

Night work is set to begin on Sunday on EMWD’s Murrieta Road Transmission Pipeline Project in the area of Murrieta Road and Newport Road. Night work is expected to continue weekly from Sunday through Thursday for approximately five weeks, with work occurring between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

McCall Boulevard – Encanto Road and Oak Hurst Avenue – Resurfacing Project

Sidewalk improvements have been completed and restriping of the roadways was expected to be completed today.

Goetz Road – North of Kabian Park – SCE Utility Undergrounding Project

SCE continues to perform a second phase of utility line undergrounding work on Goetz Road with lane closures in place north of Kabian Park. Travel will be available both northbound and southbound during the project.

Rockport Ranch – Material Import Haul Route Update

Materials import operations for the Rockport Ranch development continue along the following routes:
-- Antelope Road/Garbani Road/Briggs Road - Monday through Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
-- Holland Road - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Hauling on Holland Road will continue to be eliminated on Wednesdays to ease traffic congestion related to the minimum day school schedules in the area.

Scott Road/Leon Road – Intersection Improvements

Paving work expected to start on this project was slightly delayed and is now anticipated to begin Saturday. This work is not expected to impact travel lanes at the intersection.

Menifee Justice Center (Menifee Town Center)

Onsite work continues at the Menifee Justice Center site. There are no traffic impacts resulting from the work at this time.

Menifee Road Improvements – North of Matthews Road

KB Homes is currently constructing off-site improvements on Menifee Road north of Matthews Road. While there are no full lane closures on Menifee Road, there is considerable traffic control in place due to the heavy construction being performed on the roadway.
