We receive many questions about enrolling students at Santa Rosa Academy, and there are a lot of comments on how hard it's to get a spot for your child. With that in mind, we want to take this opportunity to explain the options, processes, and deadlines to our community.
At Santa Rosa Academy, we offer three diverse educational programs called Tracks. The Blue Track is full-time, on-campus education, where students attend school Monday through Friday. The Red Track is an independent study homeschool program supported by an Educational Advisor, with an option for a partial or fully online curriculum. The White Track is a hybrid program where independent study students attend school on campus two times a week.
Students in any of these tracks have access to participate in athletics, clubs, social events, graduation and promotion ceremonies, as well as access to the Arts & Technology Academy, Biomedical Academy, Engineering Academy, Administration of Justice program, and Ornamental Horticulture program.
Each year, Santa Rosa Academy opens an enrollment lottery application from November to February to allocate any open spaces in the Blue and White Tracks produced by students moving out of the state, graduating, etc. Previous waitlists do not roll over, and lottery sign-up is required every year.
For the 2022-23 school year, this lottery opened on Nov. 1, 2021, and will close on Feb. 4, 2022. This year, the lottery will take place on March 4, 2022, and it will be done electronically using a random list generating application to increase transparency in the enrollment process.
All students entered into the lottery are assigned a lottery ID number. The random public lottery determines an applicant's placement on the waitlist for each grade level. Offers for openings are made in lottery placement/waitlist order until the spots are filled.
Enrollment in Red Track does not require a lottery as spots are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are still openings available on this track for the second semester of this school year. If you have any questions about enrolling your child at Santa Rosa Academy, please do not hesitate to email enrollment@sra.mn.
