Press release from Menifee Union School District:
Please join us for a Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Jan. 21 at 5 p.m. to discuss Redistricting Areas for the School Board Election.
Every 10 years, governments, local governments, and school districts use new census data to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed. The Menifee Union School District Board of Trustees would like to encourage all members of the community to participate in the redistricting process for the School Board Trustee voting areas and will be holding a virtual community meeting to solicit input from community members. These changes DO NOT impact attendance boundaries in any way.
In the Menifee Union School District, there are five Board of Trustee areas. After every Census, school districts are required to:
1. Review the population data to determine if their board areas are still within the allowable variance.
2. Make any necessary adjustments to the areas to ensure population balance.
The 2021 redistricting effort will impact the board areas for the Nov. 8, 2022 primary elections. The input of the community is important to creating a map that provides fair and effective representation for all citizens of the district.
Please join us on Jan. 21 at 5 p.m. to provide input on the possible maps.
