Crime report: 95 felony arrests in fourth quarter of 2021

Menifee Police officers made 95 felony arrests in the last quarter of 2021, including 23 for assault, according to the latest Menifee PD crime statistics.

Police Chief Pat Walsh presented the report to the City Council on Wednesday. Assaults made up the highest number of felony arrests, followed by felony warrant arrests (15) and parole violations and possession of stolen vehicles (13 each).

Misdemeanor arrests totaled 144, with the highest number being drug possession (34).

Police responded to 398 traffic collisions from October through December, including 31 injury collisions and three fatalities. A total of 935 traffic citations were issued.

Officers responded to 12,708 calls for service during that time period. Response times for priority 1 calls averaged 9:31, above the department’s goal of 6 minutes. Walsh said the absence of officers out with COVID-19 has created staffing issues that have affected response times.
