Sun City Boulevard was expected to be closed for at least four hours from Augusta Drive to about 300 feet south of Berkey Court this afternoon following an accident in which a vehicle crashed into a home at the intersection of Sun City Boulevard and Berkey Court.

The accident was reported at 11:16 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department. No one was seriously injured. Two people were evaluated on scene but declined treatment. Cause of the accident is under investigation.

The vehicle hit a gas meter, which was leaking gas into the home, according to Adam Eventov of So Cal Gas. Crews needed time to dig into the street, pinch off the gas line, make repairs and ventilate the house. In addition, 24 homes in the area were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
