Santa Rosa wins So Cal Classic basketball tournament

The Santa Rosa Academy boys basketball team won four straight games last week to take the championship of the So Cal Classic tournament at Cal Lutheran.

Junior Dylan Sapong and senior Jeff Sims were named to the all-tournament team, while seniors Marcus McCray and Max Steward also had outstanding performances, according to coach Gabriel Flores. SRA had an easy time in the championship game, scoring a 61-28 victory over Temecula Prep.

In earlier rounds, Santa Rosa defeated Cal Lutheran (68-37), Nuview Bridge (61-18), and St. Jeanne de Lestonac (53-18). This is the first time the Rangers have won the championship of the tournament after competing in it for eight years.
