Story has been updated to report that it was the Sheriff's Department, not Menifee PD, that didn't release the suspect's name and the charges.
A police pursuit that began in Perris ended with a vehicle collision in Menifee and the arrest of a suspect after a foot pursuit, authorities said.
The incident began at 1:20 p.m. when Sheriff's deputies attempted a traffic stop near the area of Navajo Road and Gilmore Road, said Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro. The vehicle fled the scene and a pursuit continued until it entered Menifee.
At 1:57 p.m., the suspect vehicle collided with a Menifee Police Department patrol car near Turfwood Street and Murrieta Road. The suspect fled on foot but was soon taken into custody.
No one was injured, according to Pecoraro. Menifee PD Captain Dave Gutierrez said an officer was checked for injuries on scene but did not require treatment. There was only minor damage to the patrol car.
The name of the suspect and charges he faces were not released by the Sheriff's Department, which was the arresting agency.
