The Menifee Police Department is committed to using technology to reduce crime in the city and enhance officer safety. The following press release describes how the department utilizes the below technology to serve the community:
Axon Body Worn Cameras (BWC)
The benefits of using BWC’s include, but are not limited to, increased public confidence in policing, increased transparency, increased officer safety, improved officer performance and civilian conduct, being an impartial witness, aiding in evidence collection and court proceedings, improved officer training and development, and assisting with faster resolutions of citizen complaints and lawsuits.
Axon Taser 7’s
The benefits of the Taser 7 include, but are not limited to, increased de-escalation success during attempted or actual physical attacks resulting in fewer injuries to subjects and officers.
Drones
The benefits of using drones in law enforcement include, but are not limited to, event monitoring, investigating crimes in progress, searching for missing persons, crime scene analysis, and increased officer safety by being able to provide vital information prior to officers making contact.
Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR)
The benefits of using ALPR technology include, but are not limited to, providing license plate numbers to give officers objective and actionable leads to solve criminal investigations, locating missing persons, locating and recovering stolen vehicles, locating and arresting dangerous criminals, and uniting civilians and police to build safer communities.
