Menifee Economic Development Director Gonzalez honored

The City of Menifee is proud to congratulate City Economic Development Director Gina Gonzalez as a recent recipient of the Connect Commercial Real Estate’s (CRE) 2021 Women in Real Estate Awards. Gonzalez was chosen as a regional winner representing one of 10 women in California.

Gonzalez leads Menifee’s award-winning economic development program, which advances the city’s prosperity and economic growth. Menifee’s economic development team cultivate relationships and work alongside the City's development team to attract, retain, and grow businesses and new projects in the community, thereby spurring incoming job creation, new development, a strong diverse local economy and enhanced quality of life for residents.

“This prestigious award that Ms. Gonzalez is being awarded speaks to the caliber of leadership Menifee has on its executive team,” said Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman. “There is a lot of growth occurring in Menifee and my council colleagues and I are proud of the additional and incoming retail, office and industrial projects occurring in Menifee that are active or in the pipeline. It’s team members like Ms. Gonzalez that are working hard around the clock behind the scenes to make Menifee a safe, thriving and premier place to be.”

The award program, in its fifth consecutive year, honors an elite group of professionals whose talent and innovation help them succeed as influential leaders in commercial real estate. The distinction comes after a competitive process, with nearly 500 submissions from across the country. Connect CRE chooses 10 national winners and 10 regional winners (California, Texas, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Florida, Seattle, Phoenix, and Washington DC), recognizing 100-plus inspirational women each year.

This program illustrates Connect CRE’s commitment to encouraging the commercial growth of cities around the country, and to recognizing the individuals and teams who play a key role in supporting regional economic development activities,” said Gonzalez.  “It is under the leadership of Menifee’s City Manager Armando G. Villa, where creativity and innovation are encouraged and supported that give employees, like myself, the flexibility to create real meaningful impacts in the community through commercial real estate.”

Connect CRE announced the winners last month to a national audience of more than 150,000 commercial real estate executives.
