Press release from the City of Menifee:
Redistricting, the process of redrawing district lines based on new census data, has begun in the City of Menifee. A dedicated redistricting website is live, and the City is asking the public to participate by attending a workshop, submitting a public comment form, or submitting their own draft map for consideration.
“Public input into the redistricting process is critical,” said City Clerk Sarah Manwaring. “Our office encourages and is available to answer any questions or receive comments that residents may have.”
The City will hold its first public workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at Sun City Library, 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd.
The dedicated site that includes links to an online mapping tool and the public comment form is accessible through the City’s website: www.cityofmenifee.us/redistricting.
A draft map will be presented in February 2022 at the conclusion of the public workshops. The public will then have an opportunity to comment before a final map is adopted in March 2022. Census data reveals the City of Menifee population now stands at 102,527.
For more information about the process, the public can email City Clerk Sarah Manwaring at smanwaring@cityofmenifee.us.
