City announces road closures, construction updates

MENIFEE -- The City has road closure and construction updates to share with the community:

Murrieta Road – Near Salt Creek

The contractor has moved to the second phase of this project, which is located between Newport Road and Salt Creek Channel. Travel lanes in the project area are reduced to one lane in each direction. For updates, please visit www.emwd.org/MurrietaRoad.

Menifee Road/McCall Boulevard – Intersection Improvements

Night work will resume beginning Sunday, Nov. 14, at the intersection of Menifee Road and McCall Boulevard. Traffic control will be in place from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. This phase of the intersection project is expected to last approximately three weeks. Motorist traveling in this area during project work hours should expect traffic to be slowed due to temporary traffic lane reductions.

Rockport Ranch – Material Import Haul Route Update

Lennar, the developer of Rockport Ranch, began importing soil material to the project south of Old Newport Road and west of Briggs Road. The soil will be stored there until grading begins for the 305-home development.

Hauling operations to import soil are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hauling routes for the import operations include truck travel on Antelope Road, Garbani Road, Holland Road, and Briggs Road. Holland Road will be used only between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to keep the hauling operation from impacting school traffic.
