Youth from Menifee have the opportunity to express their feelings about military veterans in art and words in a contest connected to this year’s Veterans Day celebration.
The contest, called “Honoring All Who Served”, is open to students in first through 12th grades in three age categories. There are also three divisions in which students can pay tribute to veterans: One-dimensional art, three-dimension art, and written word. Prizes will be awarded in all categories.
Submission deadline is Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. Submit entries digitally to communityservices@cityofmenifee.us by the deadline. Winners will be honored at the Nov. 11 Veterans Day celebration in Wheatfield Park.
That event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, located near the corner of Menifee Road and La Piedra Road. The event will feature a flyover, guest speakers, displays of the contest winners, and activities for all ages.
Members of the community are invited to submit names of veterans who have served our nation so they can be acknowledged during the ceremony. Email the name, title and services dates to specialevents@cityofmenifee.us to be included.
