The Paloma Valley Wildcats’ hopes for their first win of the season were dashed in double overtime Thursday night when Orange Vista pulled out a 28-21 victory in Paloma’s final home football game of the season.
Paloma Valley trailed 14-7 with 40 seconds left in regulation play when quarterback Brady Nelson hit KJ Misini with a 12-yard touchdown pass. The PAT kick tied the score and sent the game to overtime.
In the first overtime round, Paloma Valley started off with a 4-yard touchdown run by Stephen Gallegos. Orange Vista answered on its possession, however, to send the game to a second overtime round. Orange Vista started off with a touchdown, but a fumble ended Paloma’s chances to answer and tie the score.
