Playing under the lights in their new stadium, the Liberty High Bison scored a 46-24 win over Castaic High in a nonleague football game Friday night.
Quarterback Troy Dulyn threw three touchdown passes, including two to Timajae Johnson. In addition, Eddie Smith and Anthony Ruelas combined for over 300 yards rushing. On defense, Elijah Campbell had an interception and several pass break-ups. Edwin Camacho had a great game at middle linebacker, said coach Kraig Broach.
Playing a JV freelance schedule in their first season for the new high school, the Bison improved their record to 8-1. They finish the season at Apple Valley next week. Then next season, Liberty will compete on the varsity level in the Mountain Pass League, which includes San Jacinto, West Valley, Taquitz, Citrus Hill and Perris high schools.
