Heritage High will have a bye in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 6 boys water polo playoffs and will open the postseason Thursday at home.

The Patriots (12-7) finished the regular season with a 6-5 win over rival Paloma Valley on Oct. 25. They will face the winner of Tuesday's Whitney-Santa Fe game at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Drop Zone waterpark pool.

Paloma Valley will open the playoffs on Tuesday at San Gorgonio. The Wildcats are 10-8 overall.
