The Friends of the Sun City Library seeks donations of used books for its recently reopened bookstore.
Residents are invited to bring any gently used books in good condition to the library at 26982 Cherry Hills Blvd. any Saturday in October from 9 a.m. to noon. Bring the books to the parking lot of the library and volunteers will accept the items.
The Friends are accepting hard-bound fiction and non-fiction books, paperbacks, novels, coffee table books, magazines (not older than three months), DVDs, CDs, LPs, audio books, puzzles, cookbooks, and children’s books. No encyclopedias, yearbooks, textbooks, or newspapers will be accepted, nor water-damaged, critter-eaten or other books in bad shape. As the group states, “If you wouldn’t give the book to a friend, don’t give it to The Friends.”
Donations are sorted, priced and sold in the bookstore. Profits from all sales go toward the purchase of books, media and equipment for the Sun City Library. If you are interested in volunteering to work in the bookstore, pick up an application from the bookstore cashier.
