News release from the City of Menifee:
Menifee residents are invited to clean up and clear out their old paperwork in a safe and secure way through the City’s free Fall Shred Fest community shredding event.
The event is being hosted by the City of Menifee, in partnership with Waste Management, and will take place Saturday, Oct. 2 from 8-11 a.m. at Menifee City Hall, located at 29844 Haun Road.
Shredding documents with personal information on them helps protect you from identity theft. Paperwork that residents may want to consider shredding include bank and credit card statements, canceled or voided checks, pay stubs, and utility bills, among any other documents with personal, identifying information.
Menifee City Clerk Sarah Manwaring encourages residents to take advantage of the free opportunity.
“The City of Menifee is pleased that we can offer this secure way to get rid of unneeded paperwork. With shredding taking place onsite at City Hall on the day of the event, residents can feel confident that their information will be disposed of safely,” shared Manwaring.
Menifee residents are welcome to bring up to three banker boxes, or equivalent, to the free community shredding event. Attendees should bring proof of residency to the event. Please note that the shredding is for personal documents only, not businesses. While staples and paper clips are able to be shredded with the paperwork, please make sure there are no binders, pens, binder clips or other objects in the boxes to be shredded.
