Football players at Heritage High, Paloma Valley High, Liberty High and Santa Rosa Academy are in full practice mode as they prepare for their season openers on Aug. 20.
Heritage will open its season at home against Santiago. The next week, the Patriots host a formidable opponent in Vista Murrieta. They play at Paloma Valley on Oct. 1 before opening Ivy League play at home against Temescal Canyon on Oct. 8.
Paloma Valley will also be at home on Aug. 20, against Vista High of San Diego. The Wildcats' first road game will be the next week at Murrieta Valley. They open Sunbelt League play at home Oct. 8 against North High of Riverside.
Liberty High's first-ever football game will be at Pius X of Downey. The Bison's home opener is Aug. 27 against Whittier Christian. Although Liberty has only freshmen and sophomores this year, it will play a varsity schedule as a freelance team.
Santa Rosa Academy will be on the road for its first four games this season before hosting Temecula Prep in its South Valley League opener on Sept. 25.
