Checkpoint results in 5 DUI arrests, 17 citations issued

News report from Menifee Police Department on its latest DUI/Drivers License checkpoint:

We conducted a DUI/DL Checkpoint on Saturday evening in the 29200 block of Scott Road. A total of 497 vehicles entered the checkpoint, resulting in five drivers being arrested for DUI, eight drivers being cited for driving without a license, three drivers being cited for driving on a suspended driver's license, two subjects being arrested for outstanding warrants, a total of 17 citations being issued, and six vehicles being towed.

Please remember to not drink and drive. Always utilize a Designated Driver of ride share option. There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. DUI is 100 percent preventable, but it starts with good planning and responsible decisions.
